Ableton Live for Sound Practitioners
A four-week live virtual course for sound practitioners who want to learn how to create their own music, meditations, soundscapes and audio using Ableton Live.
You will learn the foundations of Ableton in a simple, practical way, including how to navigate the software, record and edit your voice, crystal bowls and other instruments, work with samples, layer sound, add effects and build a complete piece from beginning to end.
The course is designed specifically with sound practitioners in mind, while giving you a strong foundation that can support whatever you would like to create with Ableton.
You do not need professional recording equipment. We will work with samples and simple ways of bringing audio into Ableton, and I will provide equipment recommendations for anyone who would like to build a more professional recording setup.
You will also learn how to create original audio for your practice, including guided meditations, sound journeys, personalized client recordings and audio that can be used between sessions.
Each class is live and hands-on. I will teach directly inside Ableton and guide you through the process step by step.
Week 1: Getting Comfortable in Ableton
Learn how to navigate Ableton, understand the basic workspace and bring audio into your session.
Week 2: Recording + Building Your Piece
Learn how to record and edit audio, work with samples, create loops and begin building your own project.
Week 3: Layering + Shaping Sound
Learn how to layer sounds and use tools such as reverb, delay and EQ to create space, balance, movement and transitions.
Week 4: Completing Your Project
Arrange and refine your project, make final adjustments and export your finished piece.
By the end of the course, you will have created your own finished meditation, soundscape or original piece of audio and have the foundational skills to continue creating independently in Ableton.
No previous music production experience is required.
Class replays are included.
Private 1:1 guidance is included with the course.
