From your first session to a finished piece.

Learn to record and edit your voice, crystal singing bowls and other instruments. Work with samples and build layers of sound, using effects to shape your project as it develops.

The teaching is designed around the needs of sound practitioners, with a foundation you can apply to whatever you want to create in Ableton.

Week 1 · November 5

Getting Comfortable in Ableton

Find your way around the workspace, understand the essential controls and bring audio into your first session.

Week 2 · November 12

Recording & Building Your Piece

Learn to record and edit audio. Work with samples and loops as you begin developing your own project.

Week 3 · November 19

Layering & Shaping Sound

Explore reverb, delay and EQ. Learn how to balance your layers and create space and movement in your audio.

Week 4 · December 3

Completing Your Project

Arrange and refine your piece, make final adjustments and export your finished audio.

Make something you can use in your practice.

Develop a guided meditation or sound journey. You might create a personalised client recording, or audio that supports people between sessions.

By the end of the course, you’ll have created a finished piece of audio and developed the foundational skills to continue creating independently.

Live teaching. Support as you learn.

Each class is live and hands-on, with teaching directly inside Ableton. Follow the process step by step and apply what you learn to your own project.

  • Four live classes
  • Class replays for continued reference
  • Private 1:1 guidance included
  • Recording equipment recommendations

Start with what you have.

You don’t need professional recording equipment. We’ll work with samples and simple ways of bringing audio into Ableton.

You’ll need a computer capable of running Ableton Live, with the software installed before the first class. New users can explore Ableton Live’s free trial.

Equipment recommendations will be provided for anyone who would like to develop a more professional recording setup.
